And finally the trailer is OUT and speaks VOLUME with a hard-hitting Shloka in the End!
Set in Ujhaas, a village in north-west India, Parched portrays the lives of women trapped within the trials and sufferings of rural Indian patriarchy. The movie explores the bittersweet tales of Rani, Lajjo, Bijli and Janaki, who unbashingly talks about everything- men, sex, life, and hypocrisy, as they struggle to face their individual demons.
Parched is directed by Leena Yadav, stars Radhika Apte, Surveen Chawla, Lehar Khan and Tannishtha Chatterjee as protagonists and is produced by Ajay Devgn Ffilms.
Radhika plays a “barren” woman, who is unable to bear children, and hence tolerates the after effects.
Lehar Khan plays an innocent girl who was herself dishonored in her village.
Tannishta Chatterjee plays a surviving widow leading a miserable life with her only child, while society struggles to accept her.
Surveen Chawla plays a hooker, who is looked upon as the men savor her “hari-bhari” jawaani!
A nail-hitting agonizing story! Check out the trailer:
