“Abki Bar, Ram Gopal Varma ki Sarkar”
No, no, no it’s not about any political association of Ram Gopal Verma, you might be thinking. The buzz is all about the third instalment of hit Bollywood movie ‘Sarkar’. The national award director Ram Gopal Verma has teamed up with Big B to work on the sequel of Sarkar. The relationship of superstar Amitabh Bachchan and RGV goes long back, who apart from Sarkar, have worked together in a number of movies including Darna Zaroori Hai, Nishabdh, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, Rann and Department.
Based on the life of late politician Bal Thackeray, Sarkar (2005) presented the Big B in a new godfather personae – Subhash ‘Sarkar’ Nagre. While Amitabh was the main protagonist of the movie, Abhishek Bachchan played the role of his son ‘Shankar’. The movie was a hit and both Sr. and Jr. Bachchan impressed the audiences by their powerful performances. After three years gap RGV came up with the sequel of the movie Sarkar Raj (2008), which also starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Now as per the reports of a popular daily, the third instalment of the thriller drama is ready to come back. RGV seems to be super excited for the movie as he informed, “Abhishek’s character died in the second film, Aishwarya too won’t be a part of Sarkar 3. The film will focus on Sarkar’s life with a completely new set of characters that were not a part of the earlier films.”
