The real comeback queen of Bollywood and Politics, the Puratchi Thalaivi J. Jayalalithaa breathed her last yesterday, at 11:30 PM. As we all know, she had been admitted at Apollo Hospitals, Greame’s Road, Chennai since 22nd September for acute dehydration and lung infection. On December 5, she suffered a cardiac arrest that proved to be fatal.
A beauty-queen of South, Jayalalithaa had begun her acting-career in 1961 film Sri Shaila Mahathme. She worked with many Tamil stars of her time but her perfect match was M.G. Ramachandran.
In 1982, she joined the AIADMK, which was founded by Ramachandran. Since then, she had made several comebacks into politics. She had served 5 terms as CM of Tamil Nadu (1991-96, 2001, 2002-06, 2011-14, 2015-16).
Her demise is an ultimate loss for her fans, followers and the Tamilians alike.
