A dialogue making fun of Late Mohammad Rafi from Karan Johar’s ADHM has offended several people in the country; fans and celebrities are not apart. In a scene from the movie, Anushka Sharma says:
Mohammed Rafi gaate nahi, rote the (Mohammed Rafi used to cry, not sing).
Sonu Nigam and Shahid Rafi, son of Late Mohammed Rafi seems quite furious over the scene in the context, which makes fun of the legendary singer Rafi Sahib.
Sonu while talking to an entertainment portal, made his take clear about the scene
If you can listen to the same joke about your parents then we are wrong. If your blood boils that how can someone say something like this about my parents, then hum sahi hain beta. When something bad will be said about your father then obviously, you’d get hurt,
Earlier, Rafi’s son, Shahid told a news portal
This is so insulting. I am ashamed of Karan Johar. I didn’t expect this from him at all. My dad has sung songs for Karan’s father (Yash Johar) and this is what he has done now. I haven’t seen the film yet. Whoever has written this dialogue is an idiot. He doesn’t know who Rafi saab was. He was the most versatile singer. How can he write such crap about a legendary singer?
Also, Shahid is expecting an apology from Karan.
The damage has been done. So many people have watched the film. I don’t think he is even going to edit that part. All I expect from Karan is an apology letter from him.
