Sanju Baba is one heck of a survivor, and now we know why!
Amidst all the jail terms, court summons, media speculations and drama- the man has emerged as a winner, a free man. As we all know, he was serving his jail terms in regard with the April 1993 incident, in which he was convicted for illegal possession of arms. Recently, he walked out of Yerwada jail with a white sheet, and narrated his “whirling” experience.
23 years of in-and-out-of-jail misery- We hear you Munna Bhai!
“A jail term doesn’t only take away your physical freedom. It imprisons your thought processes. You’re no longer free to sit how you want, stand how you want…,” Dutt revealed about his prison life.
The actor jokingly said, “The best place to lose weight is jail”, saying his transformation from being a pot-bellied to a fit-as-a-fiddle man. Although he was provided with exercise equipment, no Dumbells were given as a safety concern, as authorities felt he might kill himself with those.
He spoke about his spiritual inclination, telling he read almost every holy sculpture, such as the Mahabharat, the Ramayan, the Bhagwad Gita, and books on Lord Shiva. He has experienced a major reform, but feels strongly about the prison rules and regulations- which might go back to British days. As an example, he narrated that during periodic authority rounds, Dutt and fellow prisoners were made to squat on the floor- YES!! Just like bonded workers did before the Zamindars! Now that’s brutal!
According to him, the biggest problem was space. Sleeping hours were a disaster, as every inmate would be in utter frustration due to lack of proper space. Now, he is getting hold of himself and has been adjusting to his normal stardom life with his family and friends around him to support.
From sleeping onto soft mattresses to a stone-cold floor- Sanjay Dutt has been a real transformation. God bless you Sanju Baba!!
