Secret behind Jiah Khan’s death has been long awaited. The actress was found hanging from her ceiling fan in her Mumbai’s residence in 2013. While CBI and Mumbai Police ruled it out as suicide. The late actress’s mother, Rabia Khan, claimed her daughter was brutally murdered. Sooraj Pancholi, Jiah’s boyfriend, was the reason behind her suicide, and Rabia demanded that he should be tried for murder.
On Monday the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the Bombay High Court that
The CBI has no reason to protect the accused (actor Sooraj Pancholi) in the case, Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh told a division bench of Justice Naresh Patil and Justice Prakash Naik.
A division bench headed by Justice Naresh Patil asked Rabia to prepare the list of abnormalities and submit on August 23. Rabia’s lawyer Dhairyasheel Patil pointed out anomalies stating the analysis had not taken into account the BBM (mobile) messages exchanged between Jiah and Sooraj. He claimed that the postmortem report had mentioned that Jiah’s neck bore an injury mark which indicated she might have been strangulated or assaulted but this too had been considered by the investigating authorities.
Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, however, claimed that CBI had referred on the injury mark an expert from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) who had lined out murder while asserting that it was a case of suicide.
Singh also stated that the investigations done by CBI was in the right direction and the allegations put by Rabia were baseless.
