Priyanka Chopra recently spoke about some special achievement on Twitter,
Excited to be a LinkedIn Influencer… a new platform, a new audience, a new perspective…
Yes! She became a global icon. Priyanka has become the first Indian actor to join the elite list of LinkedIn Influencers. Priyanka is very well known for her philanthropy. She has promoted issues such as child rights and gender equality many times. Hence, enabled herself to be a LinkedIn Influencer.
A LinkedIn Influencer is a designation given to selected 500 professionals, who’ve been invited to publish on LinkedIn. As leaders in their industries, geographies and seniority, they discuss topics of interest, such as leadership, management, hiring and firing, disruption and how to succeed.
On this occasion, Akshay Kothari – the Country Manager of LinkedIn India mentioned,
We are excited that Priyanka Chopra is going to share her unique perspectives with millions of professionals on LinkedIn, in India and worldwide. There’s so much we can learn from, and be inspired by her success, as she continues to chart new highs. Ms. Chopra’s debut on LinkedIn as an Influencer also underscores how far we have come as the platform for professional conversations and content, and our desire to invest to become even more relevant to audiences in India and globally.
As a LinkedIn Influencer, Priyanka Chopra will join a very select group of Influencers that includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi and eminent leaders such as Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (Chairman & MD, Biocon), Alan Joyce (CEO, Qantas), Indra Nooyi (Chairman and CEO, Pepsico), Ban Ki-moon (Secretary General, United Nations), Piyush Gupta (Group CEO, DBS Bank), Tony Fernandes (Group CEO, Air Asia) and Oprah Winfrey (Chairman and CEO, Oprah Winfrey Network). And as we said she will be the first Indian actor to achieve this feat.
