It is well known that one of the much awaited movie of this year i.e. Udta Punjab is in trouble these days as recently the makers of the film were asked to drop the word ‘Punjab’ from the title. Earlier Censor Board had carried out 40 cuts on the film. In addition to it the objection of political parties against the movie pushed the film in more controversies.
The film, all set to release on June 17 is based on the raising drug abuse in Punjab. However, the series of controversies have created clouds of buzzes in B town. Giving a good reply to all these hullaballoos, Soha Ali recently emphasized that how the film deals with a serious and burning issue which needs to be acknowledged.

Echoing similar views, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma said that the idea should be to ban drugs and not Udta Punjab.
Instead of banning Udta Punjab the Punjab Government should ban Udta drugs and if they can’t do that they. should ban themselves

Mahesh Bhatt aptly used this opportunity to express his honest views on censorship by posing a question to CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani.
” Censorship is the child of fear and the father of ignorance”. Is Pahalaj Nihalani listening ?
