Disappointing news for Ghazal Fanatics!
A Delhi based hotel has allegedly cancelled the Legendary Pakistani artiste Ghulam Ali’s event due to continuous threats posed by Hindu Sena, a religious group.
The prominent Ghazal singer was present at the Royal Plaza Hotel, Delhi, for the grand launch of ‘Ghar Wapsi’, a movie by TV celebrity Suhaib Illyasi.
Regretfully, hotel officials cancelled the press conference and revealed that there were massive security issues and threats by the Hindu Sena and Bajrang Dal, a socially active religious group affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS.
Suhaib Illyasi told,
“It is regrettable that Ghulam Ali’s music launch has been cancelled by the hotel management. We were told not to keep the event here as they feared that people from Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Hindu Sena would disrupt it and destroy hotel property,”
‘Ghar Wapsi’ or Homecoming (literal translation) symbolizes the religious conversions of Non-Hindus into Hinduism that happened in 2014 and was widely covered by media. The movie marks an acting debut of the Ghazal Mogul, who have also composed and contributed to a song. Some of the lines are:
Apni Mitti Ki Khushboo Hain Rago Mein Yeh Basi Hai…Choomenge Isko Shaan Se. Humko Toh Pyaara Hain Yeh Watan, Apni Jaan Se.
The movie Ghar Wapsi features Alok Nath, Farida Jalal, Reema Lagoo, Deepak Tijori and Zarina Wahab, and includes a team of talented singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam and Shaan apart from Ghulam Ali.
