Do you remember the adorable Mama of Mr and Mrs Khiladi? Or, the cute Muthuswami of Saajan Chale Sasural? Yesss, today is the birthday of that well known actor-director-producer Satish Kaushik. He gained much popularity for his comic roles in many hit Bollywood movies like Jane Bhi Do Yaaro, Deewana Mastana, Mr & Mrs Khiladi, Saajan Chale Sasural, Haseena Maan Jayegi. With his comic dialogues, he has been a constant source of laughter in his movies.
Satish comes from a small village Dhanounda from Mohindergarh in Haryana, India. Born in 1956, the actor turned 60 today. After doing his schooling, he went to Kirori Mal College, where he completed his graduation. Later, he went to National School of Drama, New Delhi where he graduated in filmmaking. He then went to FTII, Pune before stepping on to Bollywood Industry.He made his entry in the Bollywood as assistant director of Shekhar Kapoor for the film Masoom, 1983. As a director, his first film was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, which released in 1993 starring Sridevi and Anil Kapoor.
Satish Kaushik got much recognition for his role of Calendar in Mr India and Pappu Pager in comic movie Deewana Mastana, 1997. He got international acclaim as an actor from the lead role of Chanu Ahmed in British film Brick Lane. Besides acting in almost 100 films, he has directed some of the noticeable movies of Bollywood like Tere Naam, Hum Apke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Hamara Dil Aapke Pas Hai and many more.In 2007, Satish started his own production company in collaboration with his NSD batch mate Anupam Kher. Recently he was seen in the famous Indian sitcom Sumit Sambhal Lega.
There are still many credits to Satish which goes unmentioned here. But most importantly the chubby actor won the heart of the audiences by his comic roles and punch lines. Let us wish him a very very happy birthday!!
