Padmavati finally went on floors for the shoots on Tuesday. Along with few hullabaloos caused about the production and budget issues, a lot of rumors of ego clashes between the cast were reported buzzing previously.
The big one was Ranveer Singh’s ego clash with Shahid Kapoor. However, for the first time Ranveer Singh himself opened up and talked to media about it. In an interview with a leading daily, Ranveer stated,
At the beginning of the year, Mr Bhansali (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) spoke to me about it, saying, “I want to make a film called Padmavati with you.” I thought it was going to be a beauty versus the beast or the heroine versus the anti-hero kind a of story. I was very excited and committed to it. Then I went to shoot for Befikre, while the scripting (of Padmavati) was on. When I came back and read the script, there was a prominent third part. I told him what I thought about the script. As a policy, I never get into the casting decisions (of any character) of a film, unless my opinion or suggestion is asked for. We had that discussion and I clearly, told him that, ‘We should get the best possible actor to play this part.” And I am very excited about Shahid (coming on board). I think he’s a brilliant actor and an amazing inclusion to our team. He will add immense value.
So, it means there were no Ego Clashes. And, Singh is totally fine with Shahid’s inclusion in the film. Now, what rumour traders will be saying about it?
Well, a little bit about the story line of the film is here; Padmavati’s (Deepika Padukone) beauty leaves Alaudin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) mesmerised to such an extent that swords draw out and a war takes place. To find out the rest, we’ll be waiting for the release next year. Also, we are witnessing Deepika and Shahid together for the first time.
