Most of the Bollywood films are based on the same cast formula, i.e. Hero, Heroine and the Villain. But there are exceptional movies that involve grey-shade characters. Let us talk about some of these roles that are truly flawless.

The ‘king of romance’ as he is known to his fans, SRK actually began his career with exceptional grey shade roles. In Darr he played a psychotic lover, while in Baazigar and Anjaam he played a manipulative womanizer.
2. Ajay Devgn: Diljale(1996)
This film had Ajay Devgn in grey-shade. Ajay plays the role of Shyam, a college student who turns a terrorist (Shaka) after his father’s death.
3. Kajol: Gupt-The Hidden Truth(1997)
The 1997 movie ‘Gupt’ showed Kajol in a negative role, which she played with remarkable genius. She also won the Best Villain Film Fare Award for her role.
4. Rajesh Khanna: Red Rose(1980)
In the 1980 movie ‘Red Rose’ Rajesh Khanna plays an insane and wealthy businessman who has bad-eye on young girls. One of the best roles of Kaka.
5. Amitabh Bachchan in Saudagar (1973) and Jurmana (1979):
These are two exceptional grey shade roles of BigB. In Saudagar(1973) he plays a shrewd jaggery-trader who betrays his wife for another woman, while in Jurmana(1979) BigB plays son of a rich businessman who thinks money can buy anything.
6. Rishi Kapoor in Zehreela Insaan(1974):
In this film, Rishi Kapoor plays a short-tempered man who wants to marry Margaret, but girl’s family refuses. Finally, the duo flees and commit suicide.
7. Rahul Roy: Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi(1993)
Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, this film shows Rahul Roy as an alcoholic filmmaker, who lands up at rehabilitation-centre, where he finds another patient Pooja and they fall in love.
8. Siddharth Malhotra:Ek Villain
This movie tells a story of a hardened-criminal played by Siddharth Malhotra whose wife has been killed by a serial-killer. This sets him on the path of ferocity.
