If Salman Khan is the Sultan of Box Office, Rajnikant remains the God and Kabaali’s box office collection has proved the same. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has earned around Rs. 11.40 crore in two days. The figure comes from the 1000 screens that have showed Rajnikanth’s power in the North. The figures from the South are yet to come. As per the speculations, Kabaali has already outdone Sultan’s collection that received Rs. 36.54 crore opening.
According to trade analyst Trinath,
“In Tamil Nadu, Kabali collected a whopping Rs 21.5 crore from its first day. Since the film was exempted from entertainment tax, it managed to register such a big opening. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Telugu dubbed version also got a good start. “The start has been phenomenal with Rs 13.5 crore. It has to be seen whether the film can sustain the momentum through the first week. It was due to the unprecedented advance bookings and Rajnikant factor, the film managed to register good opening.”
In Comparison with Madaari…
On the other hand, Irrfan Khan starring Madaari grossed Rs. 4.45 crore globally on its release, as per the makers. The film earned Rs 3.25 crore in India and Rs 1.2 crore overseas according to one of the representatives.
In the movie Irrfan Khan plays a common man who fights with the system for his family. As per the sources, the actor did a lot of research in understanding the role of the system. Moreover, Irrfan also met several politician in order to upscale his understanding about the various legislation and political matters that are associated with the issue. However, the actor is not really concerned about the Box office and commented,
“My intention is to entertain the audience through a film. I never think about 100 crores, 200 crore clubs.”
Way to go Irrfan!
